Mechanical Designer

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our mechanical design team in Beaver Dam, WI. Ideal candidates will be motivated individuals, able to build relationships among a team of professionals and have a solid understanding of Revit.

Mechanical Designers play a vital role in the documentation process. Using Revit, the Mechanical Designer will fully design each pool mechanical system. Equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, surge tanks and chemical systems, will be sized and located. Consideration for codes, accessibility, constructability, and best practice is needed along with creative team collaboration for continuity of design intent. Mechanical Designers are also responsible for accuracy and user-friendliness of drawings, a key to successful delivery of a quality project.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Pursue expert level knowledge of Revit through training and self-exploration.
  • Size pool filtration equipment and piping according to WTI best practice.
  • Develop pool filtration system models including equipment, piping, valves and other accessories.
  • Create construction documents for pool filtration systems including mechanical room plans, piping plans, P&ID schematics, electrical wiring diagrams and details.
  • Assist the team with quality control efforts.
  • Actively collaborate with team members to ensure a well-coordinated project, and to share workloads.
  • Participate in clash detection and resolution activities and meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Managers to complete mark-ups.
  • Assist Project Managers with coordination of utility information provided by other consultants.
  • Adhere to WTI standards and best practices in the creation of drawings.
  • Assume responsibility for other duties assigned or needed.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Associates degree from a technical college or better is required.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Revit is required.
  • Experience in entertainment, theme park, waterpark or AE industries is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with design for a professional services company is preferred.
  • Works independently on projects, exercising good judgment, decision-making, and when and where to engage others to successfully complete a project.
  • Manages multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interprets and exceeds internal and external client expectations and team needs.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent detail orientation and time management skills.
