Charles M. Neuman - President
Bachelor of Science, Construction – University of Wisconsin, Madison
Charles “Chuck” Neuman, founder of Water Technology, Inc., has a broad range of experience in the design and construction of aquatic facilities, which have been greatly diverse in size, scope and function. They include indoor and outdoor, public and private projects varying from public family aquatic centers to large commercial waterparks. Chuck has been personally involved in projects from conceptual planning through design and development of the engineering and mechanical designs to pool start-up and operations. Participation in the industry and a “hands-on” role in the company have resulted in new and innovative design placing Water Technology, Inc. at the leading edge of aquatic industry standards and development.

Terri Trimmer - Director of Municipal Services
Bachelor of Science, Business, with Accounting Equivalent, Central Methodist University
Terri directs the firm’s business administration, management, marketing/business development, finance, and all design and operations efforts. She actively participates in all aspects of the design firm, and her hands-on resourcefulness has assisted the Principals in creating a unique culture that supports design innovation. Terri has a solid understanding of the industry and the dynamics of an aquatic design firm and its operations.

Douglass G. Whiteaker - Principal
Bachelor of Arts, Chemistry and Biology - Luther College, Decorah, IA
As Principal-in-Charge at Water Technology, Inc. Doug Whiteaker has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the aquatic industry. He is dedicated to the planning, design, engineering and construction of aquatic facilities throughout the United States and internationally. Mr. Whiteaker leads projects of great diversity in size, scope and function including colleges and universities, athletic and fitness centers, YMCAs, hospital based wellness centers, waterparks and family aquatic centers. Prior to working with Water Technology, Inc., Mr. Whiteaker was the Director of Aquatic Design, firm partner with an international architecture firm for 10 years, and the President of a Pool Construction company from 1972-1993.

Matthew W. Freeby, AIA, NCARB - Leisure Services, Project Leader
Master’s Degree, Architecture - Washington University, St. Louis, MO
Master’s Degree, Civil Engineering, Construction Management - Washington University, St. Louis, MO
B.A., Architecture - Washington University, St. Louis, MO

Matthew Freeby has extensive experience in the design and construction of numerous building types and structures including municipal and commercial projects throughout the United States. His project experience ranges from conceptual planning to construction management. Prior to joining Water Technology, Inc. in 1997, Mr. Freeby invested nine years with Sverdrup Corporation and four years with Thalden Corporation, an architectural firm. His responsibilities included the management of design-build, construction management and hard bid type projects. With overall responsibility for large project development, Mr. Freeby has handled projects ranging from $8 million to $80 million.

Dean G. Mueller, AIA, CSI - Project Leader / Senior Design Manager

Dean Mueller has been a Project Manager at Water Technology, Inc. since 1988. His project involvement has ranged from programming and conceptual planning through construction completion, endowing him with experience that has led to a wealth of knowledge and understanding of municipalities’ design issues and unique programming needs. Dean has been an integral part of aquatic facilities successfully designed for communities and private enterprises across the United States. Mr. Mueller continues to lead projects as Project Leader and has taken on the role of Water Technology’s Senior Design Manager. In this position he has been able to share his insight into the design of both indoor and outdoor municipal pools, and larger commercial waterparks with the Design Team.

Dale R. DeClue, P.E. - Senior Project Manager
B.S. Civil Engineering, University of Missouri - Rolla
When Dale joined Water Technology, Inc. in June of 2005, he had over thirty years of professional engineering experience including eleven years of industrial design/build experience and nine years in the planning, design and construction of aquatic facilities as Vice President of an aquatic design firm. Prior to joining Water Technology, Inc., Dale continued his success as President of DeClue Aquatic DeSign, Inc. His responsibilities have included sales, program confirmation, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, submittal review, construction administration, construction inspection and mentoring.

Timothy A. Gremmer, P.E., RLS - Senior Project Manager
B.S. Civil Engineering, University of Wisconsin, Madison
Mr. Gremmer joined the Water Technology, Inc. team in 2005 with 43 years of swimming pool design and operational experience. He was the founder and former president of Gremmer & Associates, a 50 person design firm that specialized in aquatic, recreational, and transportation design. Timothy brings a wealth of experience to our team, is highly specialized in aquatic planning and design, project management, construction specifications, and site design. His engineering portfolio includes over 500 public and private, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and spas.

Carl F. Fuerst -
Bachelor of Science, Ohio State University
Carl combines forty-five years experience in administration management, planning and consulting in the park, recreation and aquatic field. He has had experience as a recreation planner/consultant for seventeen years in a private practice. Carl Fuerst founded Leisure Concepts & Design in 1977.

Richard G. Whiteaker, P.E. - Co-Founder
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University
Richard (Dick) has more than thirty-five years of experience with the design and construction of numerous types of pools, including municipal and commercial waterpark projects. He accrued a broad base of practical and innovative knowledge in engineering, construction, project administration and aquatic safety. His creative efforts in the conceptual design and planning of aquatic facilities guided the firm into their current position as a recognized leader in aquatic design.

PROJECT MANAGERS -

William R. Bornick - Project Manager
Associates in Design Engineering, Acme Institute of Technology
William Bornick joined Water Technology, Inc. in early 1999, bringing with him over nine years of experience in mechanical design and project management at a large manufacturing company. His duties at Water Technology, Inc. include mechanical design, and overall project management and coordination with clients, architects and other consultants from schematic design through construction. He has played a key role in a wide range of projects from therapy pools to large family aquatic centers and waterparks, both indoor and outdoor. His experience and detailed approach have been instrumental in his work at Water Technology, Inc.

Dustin R. Hull, P.E. - Project Manager
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Dustin joined the Water Technology, Inc. team in June of 2005. With a broad construction background, including project management, engineering, sales and estimating, Dustin specializes in the design and operation of energy efficient aquatic mechanical HVAC and control systems. Dustin’s strong problem solving abilities are critical in achieving a higher standard in the design of energy efficient systems for waterparks and natatoriums. As a member of the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHARE) and working toward LEED certification, Dustin understands the importance and is committed to energy efficiency, conservation and the use of sustainable building practices.

Michael T. Kaul - Project Manager
Studies at University of Wisconsin, Whitewater
With 16 years of experience in consulting municipal clients and managing municipal construction projects, Mike joined Water Technology, Inc. as a Project Manager and Engineering Technician in 2006. He understands the multiple tasks that are involved with a successful construction project. Working with clients and consultants, he directs the Production and Construction Administration of the project. Mike serves as the primary contact with the client during these phases, documents the client’s desires as design decisions and clearly communicates them to the project team.

Dan D. Lamers - Project Manager
Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Moraine Park Technical College
Daniel Lamers has been with Water Technology, Inc. since 2001, working on different aspects of project development including AutoCAD, project and mechanical design. As a project manager, Daniel coordinates with clients, architects and consultants from the schematic design stages through construction, facilitating a smooth overall project progress.

Scott LeMonds, Associate AIA, MPRS - Project Manager/Mechanical Designer

When Scott LeMonds joined Water Technology, Inc. in 1999, he brought with him over twenty years of experience in the design and construction fields. As Project Manager, Scott has directed many successful projects from initial programming and conceptual design phases through construction administration. His leadership, creative problem solving, total project coordination, and mechanical skills have been of great benefit to the company.

Haley A. Panton, P.E. - Project Manager
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Tulane University
Haley joined the Water Technology Inc. team in April of 2004 and is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and managing projects from the concept design stage through construction. She coordinates with clients, architects and other consultants from early stages of the project through construction. She has played a key role in a wide range of new and renovation projects from therapy pools to large family aquatic centers and waterparks, both indoor and outdoor. Haley also functions as a mechanical designer for her projects. Her extensive exposure to aquatic facilities is a proven asset to Water Technology, Inc.

Kara R. Nelson - Project Manager, AutoCAD Technician
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management (BSTM) with minor in Computer Aided Drafting and Design – Herzing College, Madison WI
Kara started at Water Technology, Inc. in 2005 employing her drafting skills and producing final construction documents for projects. Being a diligent employee and a quick learner, she has acquired an extensive understanding of aquatic design and has been promoted to oversee projects as a Project Manager.

DESIGN -

Adam Pfister - Project Designer
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Iowa State University
Adam Pfister has worked in various aspects of Landscape Architecture from environmental and urban design and image editing for the nonprofit organization to commercial and residential design. In 2005, he joined the staff at Water Technology, Inc. to develop projects from the programming and conceptual design phases. Once the design program and planning objectives report is complete, Adam uses his design experience to translate these into a preferred plan that embodies the objectives and budget. He refines this plan and develops a conceptual graphic plan format of the proposed aquatic facility.

Claude E. Rogers, Jr., ASLA - Aquatic Planner and Designer
Bachelor of Science, Landscape Architecture, Michigan State University
Claude Rogers has focused his landscaping architecture career in the area of park, recreation, swimming pool and waterpark planning, design and construction. In 1992, he joined the staff of Leisure Concepts & Design, Inc. (now the Chicago-based office of Water Technology, Inc.) as Senior Design Consultant - Landscape Architect. Throughout his practice since 1969, clients have included local, state and federal agencies throughout the country. Claude’s creative expertise in the conceptual design of aquatic facilities is recognized by the successful implementation of over 200 design projects. Several of his recent aquatic projects have won national awards for excellence of design.

Brad Saucerman - Project Designer
Master of Architecture, University of Colorado
Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, Colorado State University

Brad Saucerman joined Water Technology, Inc. as Project Designer in October 2002. He possesses valuable experience in Landscape Architecture and Planning, which he has combined with the field of Architecture. Much of his prior expertise involved land use and site planning of private and public projects. Such projects include park master planning, urban, residential and commercial landscape design, and development. Brad’s responsibilities include design and management of projects from concept to construction administration, providing design services for the site, landscape and the building structure.

Eric Silvis - Project Designer
Eric joined the WTI Team early in 2003. As an architectural illustrator, Eric creates high quality visual design using the various media available. This includes 3-D Cad renderings, animations, interactive presentations, and various other marketing related collateral. Eric has also created several photomurals for tradeshow display to support WTI’s participation in over 40 tradeshows a year.

Richard B. Speake - Project Designer
Associates Degree, Advertising Communications - LaJolla Academy of Advertising Arts, CA
Richard Speake has a vast amount of experience in multiple disciplines of CAD drafting and design, graphic design and technical illustration. Prior to joining Water Technology, Inc. in late 2003, Mr. Speake spent five years specializing in aquatic design at Counsilman-Hunsaker & Associates. His main responsibilities include preparation and production of highly professional concept drawings and illustrations, schematic design, design development and construction document sets. Mr. Speake’s impressive aquatic design experience and his ability to make use of all possible resources, coupled with his ability to adapt to the industry’s changing needs and trends are just a few of the reasons that he is able to consistently design unique facilities that best fit client needs.

Scott K. Stefanc, ASLA - Project Manager / Project Designer
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Iowa State University
Since 1996, Scott has put his knowledge and experience to use as a Landscape Architect for Water Technology, Inc. working as a Project Manager and Designer to develop projects from the conceptual and programming stages through construction. Scott has focused his creative talents on the programming and design of a variety of projects including indoor/outdoor municipal aquatic facilities, commercial and resort waterpark destinations, both nationally and internationally. Scott enjoys working with Owners and Operators to balance vision and reality, creating unique environments that will entertain and engage guests of all ages for years to come.

MECHANICAL DESIGN -

Brian W. Freber, P.E. - Project Manager / Mechanical Designer

Prior to joining Water Technology, Inc. Brian gained five years of experience in civil and environmental consulting, including swimming pool planning, engineering and design, commercial and industrial site design, as well as stormwater management planning and design. Mr. Freber brought his knowledge to the Water Technology, Inc. team in 1998 and has become a valuable asset. Excelling in his role as Project Manager of waterpark projects and coordinating with in-house staff and various consultants, Brian has been promoted to Director of Engineering and Project Manager.

Bradley Mallon - Project Manager / Mechanical Designer
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Almeda University
Brad Mallon joined Water Technology, Inc. in early 1999 with more than eight years of management and design/engineering experience in the manufacturing field, both nationally and internationally. His technical ability along with hands-on experience in mechanical environments is utilized on projects of all sizes. Mr. Mallon works closely with Senior Designers on the most intricate projects. His primary role is project management and leading the mechanical design team on municipal projects. Bradley’s past management experience, along with aquatic design experience are resources used daily in his capacity as Director of Design and Production for the WTI municipal sector projects.

Thomas M. Pomerville - Senior Mechanical Designer / Project Manager
Registered Designer in the State of Wisconsin
Wisconsin Master Plumber

Thomas Pomerville has vast experience in the plumbing field with involvement in residential, commercial and municipal projects, including design and installation technology. Prior to joining Water Technology, Mr. Pomerville spent five years with Neuman Pools, Inc., swimming pool builders. He has a wealth of aquatic knowlege and experience with design and installation methods on residential, commercial, municipal and waterpark projects. Tom’s ability to apply his hands-on experience to the design and engineering of aquatic facilities has helped define Water Technology, Inc. as a leading aquatic consulting firm. He has been involved with several hundred waterpark/aquatic projects.

Nathan Soto - Project Manager / Mechanical Designer
Associate in Applied Science, Computer Aided Engineering and Architectural Design, ITT Technical Institute
Nathan joined Water Technology, Inc. in 2002 and his responsibilities include sizing and design of pool mechanical rooms and filtration systems. His technical ability along with hands-on experience in mechanical environments is utilized as a Mechanical Eesigner. Nate also manages the AutoCAD system for Water Technology, Inc., creating new tools for AutoCAD users and ensuring the smooth operation of the AutoCAD software.

AUTO CAD -

Alice A. Buderer - AutoCAD Technician
Associate’s Degree, Civil/Structural Engineering – Moraine Park Technical Institute, WI
Alice Buderer joined Water Technology, Inc. in early 2007, bringing with her eight years of experience in Surveying and Civil Engineering AutoCAD Drafting. Her ability to present creative approaches to drafting is a great resource to the AutoCAD Team.

Andrea M. Jackson - AutoCAD Technician
Associate of Applied Science, Computer Aided Drafting & Design – ITT Technical Institute – St. Louis, MO
In 2007, Andrea became a member of the AutoCAD team at Water Technology, Inc. Prior to joining Water Technology, Inc., Andrea gained nine years of experience in aquatic 3D drafting at Counsilman/Hunsaker. Her completed projects range from universities and schools to aquatic centers and resorts. Andrea’s proficiency with a wide array of aquatic projects makes her a valuable member to the AutoCAD team.

Ervin W. Loest - AutoCAD Technician
Associate Degree, Tool & Die Design – Acme Institute of Technology, Milwaukee, WI
Ervin joined Water Technology, Inc. in 2002 with a broad background in product manufacturing and product support. He also brings eighteen years of experience in drawing board and computer aided drafting. Ervin prepares construction documents for municipal projects ranging from spray pads to indoor and outdoor family aquatic centers, and waterparks.

MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT -

Mary Aranda - Operations Analyst
Mary is Water Technology, Inc.’s Anaheim, CA representative. Mary is responsible for the coordination of Water Technology, Inc.’s Annual Pool Operator’s Seminar, including solicitation of speakers. Mary also performs regular client service calls, ensuring client satisfaction.

Melinda Kempfer - Business Development Coordinator
Bachelor of Science, Business/Marketing
Associate in Applied Science, Business to Business Marketing

Melinda has a sound understanding of the aquatic design industry. She coordinates business development efforts by preparing project proposal and qualification documents and assisting in the preparation of company literature and presentations. Melinda has written several articles for industry publications and has also presented sessions at national parks and recreation conferences. She enjoys sustaining relationships with outside consultants and working with recreation professionals to realize their goals in aquatic entertainment.

Susan Janssen - Marketing Coordinator
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing, Marian College of Fond du Lac
Susan joined the business development and marketing department at Water Technology, Inc. in early 2008. With a marketing degree and strong interest in creative design, project promotion, and client relations, she supports business development and marketing efforts by maintaining strong client relationships, assisting with proposals, preparing presentation materials, and various marketing collateral.

ADMINISTRATION -

Cathy Armbruster - Executive Assistant to the President
Bachelor of Science
Cathy joined the WTI team in 1999 as an Executive Assistant for Chuck. Her supportive efforts include typing, scheduling, meeting coordination and minutes. Cathy also assists the Business Development Team with the typing of contracts and proposals.

Sandra Beattie Guse - Accounting Clerk
Sandra joined the WTI team in late 2000. Sandra handles Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. In addition to her accounting duties, Sandra also assists the Business Development Team with various projects. Sandra has put her passion for photography to use as she has taken many of the photos and video used for marketing and business development.

Jill Nampel - Human Resources
Jill has been with Water Technology, Inc. since 1990. Jill’s duties include management of employee benefits, employee payroll, new hire orientation as well as various accounting and administrative duties.

Noah Pearson - Network Administrator
Noah joined the WTI team as Network Administrator in 2008. Noah is responsible for the maintenance and support of WTI’s computer systems, networks and telephone system. His duties include, adding and configuring new workstations, setting up user accounts, installing system-wide software, virus prevention, allocating mass storage space and troubleshooting.

Tracey Posthuma - Administrative Assistant

Tracey joined the WTI team in 1999. Her duties include a wide variety of office administration such as answering the phones, meeting and calendar coordination, office supply inventory, typing and registration maintenance. Tracey also coordinates WTI’s Annual Pool Operator’s Seminar.

Anne Slawny - Production Support Specialist
Anne joined Water Technology, Inc. in January 2003. Her main responsibility is to provide administrative support to all members of the Project Management Group. Some of Anne’s duties include, maintaining and updating the WTI Project Schedule, coordination of shop drawings and submittals, editing and assembling specifications, and all other administrative support functions associated with the Project Management Group.
