Project Accountant
Overview
WTI is an internationally recognized, family-owned, design and engineering firm specializing in commercial aquatic venues such as waterparks, aquatic centers, and sport swimming pools. We are seeking a proactive, multi-faceted project manager to join our Beaver Dam, Wisconsin team to manage a wide variety of swimming pool projects. The position requires a high level of client facing interaction and service. The ability to communicate effectively with internal teams of designers and engineers, as well as external sub-consultants, to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while exceeding client expectations is a key aspect of this role. Experience with mechanical, civil or electrical engineering is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
The following job functions are typical of the position but are not all encompassing.
- Create project accounts in Accounting System.
- Maintain project related records, including contracts and sub consultant contracts along with additional services contracts.
- Authorize access to project accounts.
- Review and approve sub consultant invoices as they relate to the stage of the projects.
- Review projects phases as it relates to the time put into the project.
- Report to management and project managers on the project profitability.
- Report to management on opportunities for additional billings.
- Create and write fee proposals as needed for the Business Development team.
- Track fee proposals for fully executed contracts upon winning the project.
- Develop reports on the project status for management to use.
- Research licensing requirements for projects.
- This position also backs up the other accounting activities in the company such as payroll, accounts payable, invoicing, accounts receivable, and human resources.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with various project team members and management.
- Flexibility and willingness to work to meet deadlines as required.
- Excellent oral and written communication for both internal and external clients, demonstrating customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and possess excellent follow through skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Management experience preferred but not required.
