Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

This position provides creative leadership, direction and production to ensure high quality design of all waterpark projects with respect to safety, guest experience, operational sensibility, buildability and efficiency.
With guidance, determine the creative strategy of the project’s design.

  • Represents WTI in a professional and knowledgeable manner to clients, suppliers, contractors, industry colleagues, etc.
  • Generates and/or oversees the creation of waterpark masterplans, architectural design drawings, schematic level documents, developed design level documents, sketches, renderings and 3D models for various sized waterpark and entertainment projects.
  • Creatively collaborates with Creative Studio designers as well as outside consultants and contractors to support projects as needed.
  • Receives/reviews/responds to: reports, concept sketches, color boards, design drawings, schedules, research materials, scripts/storylines, expense reports, design briefs, etc.
  • Other related work as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, landscape architecture, theater arts, fine arts, interior design or related field with a minimum of five years of experience in waterpark & entertainment design and production or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Understanding of waterpark, theme park and entertainment design terminology, data and operational requirements is preferred.
  • Familiar with waterpark, theme park and entertainment design industry trends, suppliers and equipment is preferred
