Engineering Project Manager
Overview:
WTI is an internationally recognized, family-owned, design and engineering firm specializing in commercial aquatic venues such as waterparks, aquatic centers, and sport swimming pools. We are seeking a proactive, multi-faceted project manager to join our Beaver Dam, Wisconsin team to manage a wide variety of swimming pool projects. The position requires a high level of client facing interaction and service. The ability to communicate effectively with internal teams of designers and engineers, as well as external sub-consultants, to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while exceeding client expectations is a key aspect of this role. Experience with mechanical, civil or electrical engineering is strongly preferred.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Proactively and comprehensively communicate all aspects of a project with stakeholders using a variety of written and verbal tools.
- Provide the technical knowledge needed to complete a well-designed and constructible set of documents, including written specifications and engineering analysis.
- Oversee the creation of high quality design and engineering deliverables (schematic design through construction documents) by coordinating with sales and an internal team of designers and engineers.
- Collaborate with architects and sub-consultants to ensure a well-coordinated project.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct on-site construction visits and generate field reports.
- Respond to submittals and RFIs in a timely manner.
- Adhere to WTI standards and best practices in the creation of deliverables.
- Assumes responsibility for other duties assigned or needed.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Degree in project management, construction, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Frequent travel to Client, including overnight as necessary, for project coordination.
- Understanding of aquatic design terminology, data and operational requirements is preferred, including aquatic industry trends, suppliers and equipment.
- Experience in waterpark or theme park industries is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of various software programs: MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, and familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Works independently on projects, exercising good judgment, decision-making, and when and where to engage others to successfully complete a project.
- Manages multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interprets and exceeds internal and external client expectations and team needs.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent detail orientation and time management skills.
- A current architect or engineer license in the State of Wisconsin is preferred.
