Project Engineer
Overview:
WTI is a globally recognized, family-owned design and engineering firm specializing in commercial aquatic venues, including waterparks, aquatic centers, sport swimming pools, custom water attractions, leisure resorts, surf park venues, and lagoons. We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented project manager to join our team in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In this role, you will oversee a diverse range of aquatic projects, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams of designers and engineers as well as external sub-consultants. Strong client interaction and service are essential, along with the ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and beyond expectations. Experience in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering is highly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate all aspects of a project with stakeholders through diverse written and verbal methods, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Apply technical expertise to produce well-designed, constructible documents, including written specifications and engineering analyses.
- Lead the development of high-quality design and engineering deliverables—from schematic design to construction documents—by coordinating with sales and internal design and engineering teams.
- Partner with architects and sub-consultants to create cohesive, well-integrated projects.
- Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Conduct on-site construction visits, providing detailed field reports.
- Respond promptly to submittals and RFIs to maintain project momentum.
- Uphold WTI standards and best practices in all deliverables.
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities as assigned to support project success.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Degree in project management, construction, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Willingness to travel frequently to client locations, including overnight stays, for project coordination.
- Strong understanding of aquatic design terminology, data, and operational requirements, including industry trends, suppliers, and equipment.
- Preferred experience in the waterpark or theme park industries.
- Proficiency in software applications such as MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, and familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently on projects, exercising sound judgment in decision-making and determining when to involve others for successful project execution.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates the ability to interpret and exceed internal and external client expectations and team needs.
- Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management abilities.
- A current architect or engineer license in the State of Wisconsin is preferred.
- Compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements upon hire.
