Project Director

Overview:

WTI is a family-owned, internationally recognized design and engineering firm specializing in aquatics. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our business development team. Ideal candidates will be self-directed individuals, able to build relationships among a team of professionals within the aquatics industry.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients across public and private sectors including architects, municipalities, and other prominent industry connections to promote WTI’s brand and secure new projects. 
  • Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and respond to leads as appropriate. 
  • Develop detailed engineering proposals and cost assessments tailored to project scopes. 
  • Collaborate with the WTI Marketing Team to develop impactful presentations for client meetings and interviews. 
  • Travel as needed to engage with prospective clients, conduct evaluations of existing facilities, or for workshops. 
  • Positively represent WTI at industry tradeshows, speaking engagements, and networking events and conferences to enhance lead generation and brad visibility. 
  • Support marketing efforts by assisting with project specific qualifications and submissions. 
  • Serve as a thought leader in the aquatic industry by participating in tailored industry events, contributing to articles and white papers and maintaining engagement on LinkedIn. 
  • Work closely with clients during programming to assess their needs, refine objectives, and provide strategic guidance.  
  • Coordinate with internal teams to address project requirements through the preliminary design phase. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact during the Schematic Design Phase ensuring alignment on key decisions.
  • Provide ongoing background support during the Detailed Design phase assisting the project team and overall client management. 
  • Facilitate effective written and oral communication among clients, owners, health departments, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery within outlined milestones.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, business or another related field.
  • Industry Experience: Familiar with municipal, government, or public-sector projects including community aquatic centers, recreational facilities, or A/E (architecture and engineering) industries is preferred.
  • Business Development: Experience in business development for a professional service company is preferred. 
  • Client Engagement: Skilled in working with diverse clients, representatives, and industry professionals to support business growth. 
  • Project Management: Capable of independently managing projects, making sound decisions, and knowing when to involve others for successful execution. 
  • Time Management: Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while having exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively. 
  • Client & Team Expectations: Understands and anticipates both internal and external needs, striving to go above and beyond. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Market & Client Research: Proficient in conducting research to identify industry trends and new opportunities. 
  • Travel Requirements: Willing to travel as needed for business engagements.
