2008 & 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials Pools

Project Type:
Competition, Education and Training
Location:
Omaha, Nebraska

WTI has been continually hired as the aquatic planning and construction administration consultant for the 2008 and 2016 Olympic Trials swimming competition and warm-up pools.

The 50-meter, 10-lane competition pool, manufactured by Myrtha Pools, features dual filtration with two separate systems, providing redundancy and a unique upper and lower distribution of pool water return. The system was controlled so that only the lower inlet system was used during the events, therefore providing minimum surface disturbance and optimizing the pool's speed.

The warm-up pool, also by Myrtha Pools, was designed in an L-shape, and has eight 50-meter lanes and five 25-meter lanes.
