Mead Splash Pad
Opening just in time for the end of summer in 2017, the community of Wisconsin Rapids happily welcomed the new Mead Splash Park. The new $550,000 splash pad was funded entirely by the Wisconsin Rapids-based Legacy Foundation, and offers an aquatic oasis without costing the taxpayers anything.
Together with MSA Professional Services, Water Technology, Inc. provided aquatic design and engineering services for this new splash pad that replaced the Mead Pool that closed in 2014.
The design for the new splash pad comes in at just shy of 4,000 square-foot and was designed with help from elementary students who had a special planning session with the mayor. Mead Splash Pad has variety of spray and play features for everyone to splash around in, but more specifically, there is a Vortex Labyrinth installation. This new component provides engaging opportunities for youngsters to play with a life-like stream that encouters anything from floating objects to playful obstructions. Whether enjoying ground-sprays, splash tunnels or any of the other engaging aquatic amenities this park truly has something for everyone.
