Seven Springs Water Park

Project Type:
Community Recreation
Location:
Powder Springs, Georgia

In March of 2011, the residents of Cobb County voted to implement a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) to fund projects for parks improvements, public safety improvements, facilities improvements and transportation improvements. A seasonal family water feature at Seven Springs Water Park was identified as one of the projects to be funded by the 2011 SPLOST. Water Technology, Inc. (WTI) along with Lyman Davidson Dooley, Inc. were hired to complete the project.

WTI worked diligently to design and engineer aquatic features that would entertain a variety of users and serve as a beacon for outdoor water play for years to come. The new Seven Springs Water Park contains a beautiful leisure pool complete with a current channel, a zero depth entry, underwater bench seating, a children’s slide, water basketball, and a slide tower complete with two open flume body slides.

Following the trends in outdoor aquatic design, Seven Springs Water Park provides permanent built-in shade structures that are integral to the area and are built over the water to provide shade for some of the water play activities. This allows guests to play in the water without having to retreat to the deck area for shade. This new park truly offers something for everyone.
