Kalahari® Resorts - Wisconsin Dells, WI
The new children's area at the Wisconsin Dells Kalahari replaced an underused activity pool. Neuman Group––a turnkey partnership between WTI and Neuman Pools, Inc.––was hired for this fast-track project scheduled to open for winter break in 2011. This was accomplished by working closely with the Kalahari ownership team during the design stages. The construction was performed while the rest of the indoor waterpark remained in full operation. Immediately following the completion of Tiko's Watering Hole, the team began work on the Kalahari Mud Hut Swim-Up Bar, an indoor/outdoor whirlpool spa for adults.
Tiko's Watering Hole is a 5,000-square-foot kid's play area featuring activities, slides and a 200-foot lazy river. The slow lazy river is shallow and narrower to accommodate the tiniest of guests. The entire area is heavily custom-themed, complementing the overall existing Kalahari Resort and brand. The Mud Hut Swim-Up Bar and Spa is a great location for guests to relax with a cocktail while visiting the park.
Project Highlights
- The area is unique in that the pools, slides and lazy-river were all designed and constructed to be child-sized for a comfortable, entertaining and welcoming area for small children. The Kalahari Animals were inspired by the authentic African theme that is carried through the waterpark, resort, convention center, shops, restaurant, etc.
