Richland Center Family Aquatic Center
The Community of Richland Center had outgrown their city pool, while it had served them well, it was unable to meet the needs of the multigenerational community. After several public engagement and input sessions, the City of Richland Center decided to move forward with the $4.1 Million Richland Center Family Aquatic Center.
Water Technology, Inc. (WTI) was hired to provide aquatic planning, design, and engineering services for the future Family Aquatic Center. To contain costs and be mindful of the needs of a growing community, WTI left space for future expansion including a second waterslide, an additional diving board, and a splash pad. This phased approach allowed Richland Center to begin serving their communities’ needs with the construction that could take place for their budget.
The design for the Richland Center Family Aquatic Center puts families first with a 8,673 SF zero-depth leisure pool, complete with geysers, and interactive play features. Adjoining the leisure pool is a meandering lazy river complete with a vortex and space for swimmers of all ages and ability to play. Across from the lazy river is a two-story tube slide that will provide thrills for the whole family.
Finally, the adjoining activity pool complete with two, 1-meter diving boards and basketball hoops offers a space for more competitive play.
The Richland Center Aquatic Center opened in Summer 2020 with reduced capacities to serve the local community during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
