Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center
The City of Hopkinsville hired Water Technology, Inc. to work with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Planning Commission for the design of their new family aquatic center. The Commission wanted to make sure that the residents of Hopkinsville were provided family-fun aquatic recreation and that the design appealed to their diverse market; children of all ages and abilities.
The aquatic center, which was completed in 2006 encompasses a true family entertainment venue; there is something for everyone. Children can enjoy playing in the zero depth Splash Zone with the interactive play equipment that includes water cannons, spraying water, small slides and tipping buckets surrounded by water geysers. The Riptide Express tube slide exits into the Ripple River where guests can choose to continue along the river or exit the pool. The Hurricane Alley delivers thrills, as guests body slide through this twisting tube, landing in the activity pool. The Spring of 2007 marked a fun summer of swimming and congregating at the new Hopkinsville Family Aquatic Center.
